The formula for calculating the hourly fuel consumption is 3600 × thermal power ÷ calorific value ÷ boiler efficiency. Where the thermal power of a 2 ton oil boiler is 1.4MW, assuming that the calorific value of combustion of an oil fuel is 42Mj/kg and the boiler fuel efficiency is 98%, it can be derived how much fuel consumption per hour for a 2 ton oil boiler = 3600*1.4/42/0.98, which is roughly 122kg.
